Request a Practical Dairy Advisor
The Practical Dairy Advisor Program is designed to align dairy farm managers with other dairy producers who have similar management styles but more experience to bring to the operation. The program will cover the cost of the time the practical dairy advisor spends working with the farm enrolled in the program. Practical dairy advisors can provide advice on reaching higher milk production, improving reproduction or milk quality, identifying bottlenecks in the operation, or working through an expansion or modernization project on the farm.
Farms with target or profit teams can use a practical dairy advisor to bring more expertise to their team. However, farms do not need to be enrolled in the On-Farm Dairy Resource Team Program to request a practical dairy advisor. Click on the link below to complete a request form for a PDA.

On the Practical Dairy Advisor Program
When we switched to grazing, we knew it would be a good fit, but we also knew we would benefit from someone with more experience than we had. Duane came from a similar situation as we did, and he has been a good source of numbers to use as benchmarks. Many times I've had an idea to try, and I would call him to bounce around the numbers and theories. I'm not sure you can put a price figure on the value of being able to access that experience.
