Cash Cow Brochure
Pennsylvania’s dairy industry is the economic driver for Pennsylvania agriculture, creating more than 40,000 jobs and contributing more than $4.2 billion annually to the Pennsylvania economy. Pennsylvania’s 550,000 cows produce more than 10 billion pounds of milk, which serves Pennsylvania’s fluid needs and is shipped up and down the East Coast, bringing additional revenue into the state
Our “Cash Cow” Brochure was created in 2005, under the leadership of Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Dennis Wolff, to educate elected officials and other influencers on the economic value and importance of the commonwealth’s dairy industry.

Dairy farmers bring more than just milk to the table. Pennsylvania’s 8,500 dairy farm families work hard to produce high-quality milk and have a strong influence on Pennsylvania’s economy and its residents. Learn more about how dairy farmers contribute to our health, our environment, our economy and to the well-being of their cows in this colorful piece showcasing Pennsylvania’s dairy producers.
Our “Dairy Farmers Care” Brochure was created in 2006, under the leadership of Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Dennis Wolff, to educate consumers about the many contributions dairy producers make to their communities, the economy, the environment and to providing healthy products.
