Send A Letter to the Editor
With fewer than 1.5 percent of today's population directly involved in agriculture, it is more important than ever for dairy producers and their families to share their story with their non-farm neighbors. An effective way to do that is by sending a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
Many newspapers accept letters to the editor online today. To find your local newspaper's Web site, simply type in the name of your local newspaper into your search engine and it should come up. If you are having trouble finding it, the Web site should be listed with the contact information in the printed newspaper. Or you can mail a letter to the editor.
Here are some templates you can use to send a letter to the editor regarding the value of your dairy farm to the local community. They should download into a word document, and you can tailor them to your individual purpose. If you have any questions regarding these templates, please call 717-346-0849 or e-mail c-jsebrigh@state.pa.us.
