Based on the most recent USDA Estimated Total U.S. Sales
of Fluid Milk Products report released mid-September, fluid
milk sales were down in July, following an increase in June’s
sales. Even though historically fluid milk sales dip in the sum
mer months leading up to kids returning to school across the
country, 2025 total fluid milk sales are under the prior year’s
numbers for every month, aside from February (leap-year ad
justed total) and June. For 2025, the decline in fluid milk sales
has happened on the heels of last year’s increase in year-over
year sales.
