Dairy producers: You and your employees are invited to one of five, free animal care workshops being held on dairy farms across the state this spring! The workshops will be held directly on the farm for hands-on training. Hosted by the Center for Dairy Excellence, PA Beef Council, the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania (PDMP) and Penn State Extension, the workshops will help you boost your skills in key animal welfare areas to help you meet National FARM compliance.

Learn more about the workshops:

  • Rotate through four training areas, including:
    • Cull Cow Decisions, Down Cows and Transition Cows
    • Animal Handling, Stewardship and Meat Quality Issues
    • Dystocia
    • Farm Safety
  • Send both English and Spanish-speaking employees to the workshops. A Spanish interpreter will be present at each event.
  • Enjoy a free lunch and conversations with other dairy farmers.
  • Get a certificate at the conclusion of the workshops to show your commitment to National FARM and animal care.

  • April 28 | 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Somerset County, Pennwood Farms
