The Houseknecht Family
Expansion with Robotic Milking System
Bill and Stacey Houseknecht, Bradford County, are building a new dairy barn with a Double-8 parlor, and a lagoon manure system, partially funded through EQUIP grant money. Initially, the Houseknechts’ plans included robotics, but ultimately, they felt most comfortable with the risk and debt load associated with a parlor system. The new barn will accommodate up to 225 cows. Bill and Stacey previously had a 60-cow tie-stall barn.
