As a policy leader, here are some takeaways from the 2025 Dairy Producer Survey that could give insight into your constituents who might be part of the dairy community. View the charts below.
- PA farm base. The Pennsylvania Dairy Producer Survey was completed by 603 active dairy producers in Pennsylvania, representing somewhere between 12 to 15 percent of the farm base in the Commonwealth.
- Reinvestment. The survey demonstrated optimism among the dairy community and an interest in transition and reinvestment in the operation.
- Transition and modernization. More the 27 percent of those surveyed were planning to transition in the next three to five years, while nearly 18 percent were looking to expand and 23 percent wanted to modernize. Diversification did not rank as high among respondents.
- Performance factors. Decreasing production costs was listed in the top five performance factors impacting their success.
