2021 was a year of tight margins that saw the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program pay out every month except December where the margin, at $9.53 per cwt., just missed triggering an  indemnity by a few cents. Exports last year set multiple records. Final 2021 milk production numbers have yet to be released but it is expected to be up slightly compared to 2020.
