The Kurtz Family
Expansion with Robotic Milking System
Tim and Deborah Kurtz, Berks County, are building a new dairy barn, with four robotic milkers; plans also include a solid separator, compost drum, and lagoon, funded partially through a PENNVEST grant. Construction began after two years of planning, and also operating a satellite dairy for a year to build cow numbers and demonstrate management skills to lending institutions.
