Based on the USDA Crop Production report, Pennsylvania’s soybean
production forecasts reached 25.8 million bushels, down 2% year over year.
Soybean bushels per acre came out to 41 bushels of soybeans per acre, a 6
bushels per acre decrease. Pennsylvania corn for grain production
estimates dropped 12.1% to 93.8 million bushels in October 2024 from the
prior year’s numbers. Soybean yield per acre fell 18 bushels per acre from
October 2023’s levels to 139 bushels per acre in October 2024. Some
Pennsylvania counties suffered from inconsistent rainfall and unseasonably
warmer temperatures that hurt crop yields.
