Contact Policy Leaders

Key policy leaders — whether it’s at the local, state or national level — need to know what dairy brings to the local community. They need to hear from dairy farmers and agribusiness leaders — the people who live and breathe dairy every day to understand who we are and what we represent.

The Center for Dairy Excellence offers a brochure called “Something to Treasure” that showcases the contributions that dairy makes to the local community. A white paper on “Dairy in Pennsylvania: A Vital Engine for Economic Development” also demonstrates how dairy can spur economic growth in a community.

Dairy farm families are encouraged to open the lines of communications open by sending letters, writing emails or having face-to-face meetings with their local legislators and other policy leaders. Making personal visits while legislators are in town or inviting them to your farm can be very effective. To find contact information for your local legislators, click here.
