Team Program Grants
Using a team approach to provide greater insight into your business’s decision-making process can lead to improved profitability, enhanced performance and future opportunities. It can also smooth the road for transition to the next generation or transformation into a new business model. The Center for Dairy Excellence leverages funds provided through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide grants to individual farms to establish either a Dairy Profit, Transition or Transformation Team.
To participate in one of the programs, farms must complete an application. A demonstrated in-kind or financial match for all team grant reimbursements is required. To review additional program guidelines outlined for the 2018-19 Fiscal Year, click here. A $100 application fee is required for all On-Farm Resource Programs.
- Dairy Transition Teams: This grant is designed to help the farm establish a team to develop a transition or succession plan. Farms can apply to receive up to $3,000 in funding, which could cover the cost of paid team members, discovery-related costs and lawyer expenses.*
- Dairy Transformation Teams: New with the expanded program, the Transformation Team option allows producers considering a major business transformation to apply to receive up to $5,000 to establish a team to help plan and work through that transformation. The grant may also include additional funding if the farm’s plan involves a renewable energy component.

All Dairy Profit, Dairy Transition Teams and Dairy Transformation Teams can access an additional $1,000 beyond the base grant in matching funds to cover the cost of professional services to create a business plan.
All expenses must be submitted using an expense reimbursement form and be accompanied by meeting minutes.
