Young Dairy Professionals Can Apply for Free Registration for 2020 Dairy Summit

2018 Dairy Summit

Scholarship Opportunity Available to Young Dairy Producers and College Students

The Young Professional Scholarship program for the 2020 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit is now accepting applications from young dairy producers and college students. The scholarship is ideal for young dairy professionals who are interested in a low-cost professional development and networking opportunity. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded by the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, the Center for Dairy Excellence, and the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania.

“The scholarship program helps offset registration and hotel costs for young professionals who want to attend the 2020 Dairy Summit,” said Brittany Snyder, Dairy Education Programs Manager for the Dairy Excellence Foundation. “Hundreds of dairy producers and industry professionals attend the event each year, giving young professionals the chance to network with individuals who have a strong passion and deep-rooted experience in Pennsylvania dairy.”

The 2020 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit will take place on February 5 and 6 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, Pa. The Summit will feature acclaimed keynote speakers and more than 16 breakout sessions to reignite optimism about dairy. A Young Dairy Professionals Panel will be held on Tuesday evening, February 4, where attendees will hear from young producers who will share how they found careers in the dairy industry.

“Each year, these scholarships allow young dairy professionals to build new connections across the industry that may positively impact their future careers,” said Snyder. “For scholarship recipients who are heading back to the farm, the Summit is also a great way to learn new strategies they can implement directly on the farm.”

Scholarship applicants must be 17-25 years of age as of February 1, 2020, must operate or live on a dairy farm, or be enrolled in an agricultural degree program at a college or university. Applicants must also attend the Young Dairy Professionals Panel on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

Applications are due by January 13, 2020. Visit centerfordairyexcellence.org/summit-scholarship to learn more or contact Brittany Snyder at 717-346-0849 or by email at bsnyder@centerfordairyexcellence.org.
