Register for June 12 Webinar and Learn How to Apply for Direct Relief Payments

The Free Webinar Will Help Dairy Farmers and Consultants Understand the CFAP Application

With the sign-up period now open for dairy producers to submit direct relief payment applications through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), the Center for Dairy Excellence is offering a free webinar titled “A Step-by-Step Guide to Submitting CFAP Applications.” The webinar is scheduled for Friday, June 12 from 8 to 9 a.m. and is designed for dairy producers and consultants. The event is free, but advanced registration is required.

Hosted by Zach Myers, Risk Education Manager at the Center for Dairy Excellence, the webinar will help dairy producers and consultants understand the CFAP application steps, how to calculate payments, and how to submit dairy applications to Farm Service Agency offices. Myers will also address questions producers and consultants have about the application process.

“Many dairy producers are eager to receive relief payments to help navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, but they have questions about the CFAP application process. With many farms having limited Internet access, consultants could also join this webinar and assist their customers and clients with completing the application,” Myers said. “Whether you’re a farmer who plans to complete the application yourself, or you’re a consultant who plans to help farms through the process, this webinar will explain each step of the application and how to calculate your expected payments.”

During the webinar, attendees will walk through the CFAP payment calculator and learn how to add specific pieces of data to the application. Myers will clarify common areas of confusion and explain how consultants can help dairy producers find the appropriate data for their farm and calculate total inventories.

“Dairy producers have until August 28 to apply for direct payments, but we encourage you to begin gathering the receipts and inventories you need to complete your application,” Myers added. “The webinar will help you understand the entire application process so you can build in enough time to submit your CFAP application by the deadline.”
