Program Focuses on Turning the Page, Managing Changing Markets
Dairy financial consultants, lending representatives, and interested dairy producers are encouraged to save the date for the twelfth annual Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference, planned for Tuesday, September 21, at the Best Western Premier – The Central Hotel and Conference Center, in Harrisburg, Pa. Currently, this event is being planned as an in-person event with virtual options being explored.
The theme of this year’s conference, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the 21st , is “Turning the Page.” Those who are working with dairy clients or with dairy farms in transition, looking to protect their risks, or wanting to grow in this post-pandemic era will benefit from this year’s program.
“There is no doubt that the dairy industry and individual dairy farm families have learned a lot from the 2020 milk situation,” said Zach Myers, risk education program manager with the Center for Dairy Excellence. “But we can’t start the next chapter in dairy if we keep re-reading the last one. Those who attend this event will learn how to help their clients or their farms reflect on lessons learned, take the next steps forward, and manage in the changing markets ahead.”
This year’s Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference will include:
- Lessons Learned from 2020 and Growth Strategies for Northeast Milk Production
- A Look at Dairy Markets, Changing PPDs, and Dairy Risk Strategies
- Perspective on Dairy Farm Transitions with Outside Business Partners
- A Guide to Retirement Planning on the Dairy Farm
The cost to attend this year’s Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference is $200 per person, discounted to $150 for those who are representatives of the Center for Dairy Excellence Allies for Advancement. Registration information is now available, with a complete program and speaker details out in June. For more information about the program, click here.
